Kenyan international Johanna Omolo celebrated his 31st birthday with a new deal at the Belgian top-flight side Cercle Brugge.

The Harambee Stars midfielder who celebrated his birthday last week penned a fresh one-year deal that will see him at the club until the end of 2021 season.

The philanthropic Kenyan has been at the club since 2017 and was part of the squad that helped Brugge gain promotion to the Belgian top division in 2018.

Omollo is set to play his first game, under a new deal, against Standard Liege, Saturday.

Omollo’s star has been on the rise since Afcon 2019 where he had an outstanding performance with Harambee Stars in Egypt.

The same year, he won the FifPro Merit Award for his outstanding community work at Dandora, a suburb he grew up at in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital.

Through Johanna Omollo Foundation, the selfless Harambee Stars player pays school fees to close to 100 pupils, and each month distributes sanitary pads to 200 girls so that they can continue going to school during menstruation.
