Egypt are through to the quarter-finals of the  Africa Cup of Nations after overcoming Ivory Coast 5-4 on penalties.

Egyptian skipper and Liverpool Mohamed Salah held his nerve to net the decisive spot-kick after the two sides played to a 0-0 draw after extra time.

The Pharaohs did not look back after Eric Bailly’s effort in the third round of spot-kicks was saved.

Egypt will face Morocco in the last eight in Yaounde on Sunday (16:00 GMT).
