Rwandan coach Andre Cassa Mbungo was officially unveiled at Bandari FC on Monday morning.

The former AFC Leopards coach joined the Mombasa-based charges as a successor to Ken Odhiambo who ditched the team for greener pastures at Sofapaka FC.

As SPORTS AFRICA exclusively revealed, Gor Mahia were keen on hijacking the deal but they were not successful.

“Coming to Bandari was an easy decision for me because their ambitions rhymed with mine,” Mbungo said during his unveiling.

“Gor Mahia wanted me as well, but I was impressed with the project at Bandari. They convinced me they wanted me more and made it easier for me to make my decision.”

The experienced tactician has further revealed what he intends to achieve at the  team.

“I am here to win titles with the club and help nurture the many talents that are in plenty here in Mombasa and its environs.”

The Dockers are currently placed sixth on the league table with eight points from the six matches they have played.
