Striker Juma Balinya believes Gor Mahia are bigger than Tanzania giants Yanga SC.

The Ugandan made his debut for K’Ogalo last weekend and helped them to a 3-0 win against Nzoia Sugar with his brace, as captain Kenneth Muguna grabbed a third.

The 27-year-old unceremoniously exited the 27-time champions after failing to get enough playing time.

“I have no issues with Yanga,” Balinya is quoted by Nairobi News.

“They are a good team but I believe Gor Mahia are a bigger club, well-known in Uganda and have won more titles in the region and even in the continent. My brothers Khalid Aucho and Baba Kizito passed through this club and went on to do great things.”

The experienced forward is already happy with the way things are going in his new team and has set his sights on successfully helping K’Ogalo defend their league title.

“I am happy and satisfied with how things are going so far. I have come in and got an understanding coach. New teammates who have quality and have helped me settle. We want to win the title this year and are on course to achieving that,” Balinya concluded.

The attacker is expected to lead the team from the front on Saturday against Sofapaka.
