A dark cloud has descended on Kenya Cup side Nondescripts RFC following the sudden demise of their former fullback Phares Mbadi.

Mbadi died on Monday evening, Raga House has reported.

Mbadi is remembered for leading his high school Upper Hill to their first Prescott Cup at the St Mary’s School in 2016.

He was arguably an asset that had the capability of rising to even higher ranks or rugby in the country.

“Nondescripts RFC regret to announce the untimely death of Phares Mbadi a member of the First XV playing squad for the last 3 seasons,” said Nondies on Wednesday.

“Phares joined Nondies in 2017 from Upper Hill School and has been an integral member of the Team and Club.”

“The family has asked for privacy and consideration in this difficult period and will give further details on his death and subsequent interment. The Ranger’s fraternity send their condolences to his family and friends.”

“At this difficult time, I call upon the Club to stand together and offer solace to Mbadi’s family, close friends and mates. May his soul Rest in Peace.”

The country’s rugby fraternity has equally sent its condolences to the affected club and the larger family of the departed.

The youngster will be laid to rest on July 8 in Rongo.
