France international Antoine Griezmann is edging closer to a move to the Camp Nou this summer with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona having already started talks.

The Frenchman announced he was leaving Atletico Madrid in May after five years with Los Rojiblancos.

According newspaper reports in France, Barcelona and Atletico representatives held talks last week to try to strike a deal for the striker.

Griezmann’s release clause at Atletico reduces from 200 £200 million to £120 million on July 1.

Talks are still continuing between the two clubs with Barcelona hoping to lower the cost of the transfer by including a player in the deal.

Diego Simeone wants Nelson Semedo but Barcelona aren’t currently willing to let the Portuguese defender go.

Reports say that Griezmann will join Barcelona on a five-year deal, earning £17 million a year at the Camp Nou – a figure lower than what he was getting at Atletico.

Griezmann said a few weeks ago that he would reveal his next destination at the start of July.
