Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) said in a statement issued in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, Thursday that the team has been drawn in Pool B for the Africa Women’s 7s tournament in Jemmal, Tunisia alongside next-door neighbors Uganda and Zambia.

KRU said the tournament serves as the African qualifying event for the Rugby World Cup as well as the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Britain.

Last week, their male counterparts Shujaa qualified for the same tournament after finishing third at the qualifiers in Uganda.

Pool A features South Africa, Zimbabwe and Senegal while Pool C is made up of Tunisia, Ghana and Madagascar according to the draw released by World Rugby.
