AFC Leopards matched to the quarter-finals of the Betway Cup after narrowly edging out Betika Natonal Super League side Ushuru FC 4-2 in penalties.

In the 52nd minute, Isaac Kipyegon was sent off after a second bookable offense to put Ingwe under pressure. However, neither of the two sides could get a goal prompting the match to be decided with penalties.

In another Shield match played at Afraha Stadium, hosts Ulinzi Stars had to give their best to eliminate hard fighting Migori Youth. The lone goal was scored by former Ingwe midfielder Bernard Ongoma.
