Gor Mahia returned to losing ways after falling by a solitary goal to Vihiga United in a BetKing Premier League game played at Kasarani Annex Saturday.

K’Ogalo came into the match as favourites owing to their recent form which had seen them win back-to-back matches against Mathare United and Western Stima respectively.

Prior to those wins, they had lost three games in a row and desperately needed to bounce back; which they did well.

On Saturday, they dominated the proceedings at Kasarani but they were wasteful in front of the opponent’s goal. They were eventually punished when Dennis Wafula scored with five minutes left to hand the Sammy Okoth-led side maximum points.

In another top-tier game played, Tusker came from a goal down to defeat Zoo FC 2-1 and move top of the table on 20 points.

The Tea Leaves Farmers were the first to score in the 30th minute after Alex Onchwati connected a great ball in the danger zone.

However, the Brewers restored parity three minutes after the pause owing to Luke Namanda’s strike.

With the match seemingly headed for a draw, Boniface Muchiri was brought down in the 18-yard area and the referee awarded the 11-time league champions a penalty.

Henry Meja rose to the occasion and found the back of the net to help his team seal maximum points.

Posta Rangers and Ulinzi Stars played to a goalless draw at Utalii Grounds.
