Rayon Sports of Rwanda has parted ways with former AFC Leopards head coach Andre Cassa Mbungo after a short stint at the club.

Mbungo ditched Ingwe in February for Gikundiro after enduring over five months at the Kenyan Premier League club without pay.

He penned a six-month contract with Rayon and and later guided the side to the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing second behind the Rwandese Premier League champions APR.

In a statement seen by Sports Africa, Rayon did not renew the contract of the former Police FC tactician but instead went for the services of Congolese coach Guy Bukasa on a single season contract.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Guy Bukasa ( Coupe du Congo 2018 winner) as head coach on contract that runs until the end of 2020/21 season.” The club confirmed on Thursday.

The latter coach who also adds up as the assistant coach of the Congolese national team Les Leopards joins Rayon from Gasogi United.

Mbungo joined AFC Leopards in February 2019 after a short span of time serving as the Rwandese national team head coach.

After his resignation from his post at the Den, Mbungo was succeeded by his assistant Anthony Kimani who has guided Ingwe to a sith sixth position in the halted Kenyan Premier League.
