Former Everton and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has hit the headlines again in the United States after another outrageous long-range goal from his own half for DC United in their MLS win over Orlando City.

Rooney has starred for the MLS outfit since making the switch from Everton to the US after the end of the 2017/18 Premier League campaign.

The former Manchester United great bagged 12 goals in the 2018 MLS season and has added another nine this year.

His latest was out of the top-drawer as he picked up possession inside his own half around 60 yards from goal following a few ricochets.

The former England international didn’t take a touch before launching an outstanding long-range shot over the opposition keeper who was off his line as the video below shows.

It’s not the first time Rooney has scored from around halfway.

The 33-year-old netted a similar goal back in 2014 for United in an away game at West Ham United before scoring from even further out for Everton at Goodison Park against the Hammers in 2017.
