Aston Villa have appointed former Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard as their new head coach.
The former Scottish champions Rangers’ boss replaces Dean Smith who was sacked last week after losing five straight matches.
The 41-year-old moves to Villa Park from Ibrox after the Villans agreed terms believed to be in the tune of £4million.
His assistants Michael Beale and Gary McAllister set to join him with Gerrard signing a deal with Villa until the summer of 2025.
Gerrard ended Celtic’s nine-year stranglehold on the Scottish title in 2021.
