Zambia captain Adrian Chama has stated his teammates are ready for Morocco challenge in the African Nations Championship (Chan) quarters.
Chipolopolo qualified from Group C after getting five points, following win against Tanzania and a draw against Namibia and Guinea. They are scheduled to play Morocco on Sunday and the skipper has shared his view.
“Morocco will be a bigger challenge, but one which we are ready for,” Chama told reporters.
“Coming into this tournament we had set our targets as a team, the first one was to go past the group stage. Today we reached that target and we will prepare adequately for Sunday’s game against Morocco.
The Zambians had expected an easy ride against Namibia who had no point prior to the game.
“[Wednesday’s] game was a very tricky one, looking at Namibia, I am sure it was evident that from our group Namibia were playing good football.
“Statistically they created many chances in our group, it is just that their conversion ratio was too low,” Chama continued.
The game will be played on Sunday in Douala. Guinea, who topped Group D, will play Rwanda.
