Manchester United will turn to their number 2 goalkeeper Sergio Romero and Dean Henderson who was at Sheffield United on loan should De Gea leave this summer.
Romero, the Argentina international, has impressed with his showings as no.2 over the course of his four-year spell at United and is considered as a potential no.1.
While the 22-year-old Henderson who won the Championship’s golden glove while on loan at Sheffield United, is also rated highly at United.
Paris Saint-Germain have made an offer to David de Gea amid uncertainty over the Spaniard’s future at Old Trafford.
De Gea, 28, would use the opening weeks of the summer to identify the shortcomings that led to an under-par campaign after winning the club’s player of the year award in four of the previous five seasons.
De Gea, whose errors during the Premier League run-in last season contributed to the Reds’ failure to finish in the top four, is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2020 and failed to agree a new contract at the club last season.
The Spain international is intent on adding a Champions League winner’s medal to his collection and it is understood that United’s failure to qualify for next season’s competition formed part of De Gea’s decision to stall on a new deal.
De Gea wanted parity with top-earner Alexis Sánchez but United were unwilling to meet the goalkeeper’s demands.
United are prepared to resist selling De Gea this summer and risk running down his contract to January, when he would be free to negotiation a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs.
With Gianluigi Buffon set to leave this summer after the PSG failed to renew his contract, De gea could be headed to France.
