Tanzania Football Federation has confirmed that the 2020/21 season will commence on Wednesday, September 9.
The East Africa nation concluded the 2019/20 season on Sunday with the FA Cup final between Simba SC and Namungo, a match the former won 2-1 with goals from John Bocco and Luis Miquissone while the latter got their consolation courtesy of Charles Manyama.
Simba managed to dominate the season, winning a treble. They started with the TFF Community Shield, then came the league title before winding it with the FA Cup ( Azam Sports Federation Cup).
The TFF Community Shield, which curtain raises the Tanzania Mainland League, will be played on the 29th of August. It will be between the Wekundu wa Msimbazi and Namungo who reached the finals of the FA Cup.
The second tier will kick off on October 3 with the third tier starting on November 7.
The FA Cup is scheduled to start on November 28 with the short transfer window set for December 12 to January 15.
Simba will represent the nation in the Caf Champions League while Namungo will play in the Caf Confederation Cup.
