Yanga SC coach Luc Eymael has stated that his striking department is letting the team down.

The 27-time league champions are trailing arch-rivals Simba SC by 15 points and the Belgian says the strikers are partly to blame for it.

The 60-year old admits his strikers are failing to convert the many scoring opportunities which come their way.

“The problem we have is in the attacking front, our strikers are not scoring goals for us,” Eymael is quoted by Mwanaspoti.

“If only my strikers could be converting the chances created to goals, no team could match us in the number of goals scored. However, since it is not happening, we will have to train harder and make them better in front of the goal; we need to start scoring.”

The former Black Leopards coach reveals he could have signed new players if rules could allow.

“If I had a chance to sign new strikers I will definitely take the chance, but since it is not the case, we have to work with those available,” he concluded.

Ditram Nchimbi, Gnamien Yikpe, Tariq Seif and David Molinga are the out and out strikers at Yanga.
