Yanga SC head coach Luc Eymael has stated that Karume Stadium in Musoma is just good for cows and pigs and not what a team like Yanga SC can play on.
The Jangwani-based side drew 0-0 with their hosts Biashara Mara United at the venue on Sunday to surrender the second position to Azam who thumped Singida United 7-0.
“It is a shame for a team like Yanga to play on a pitch which is just good for cows and pigs, the changing room was catastrophic, you cannot play soccer in such a pitch, how is it possible for a league match to be played there?” Eymael ranted as quoted by Goal.
“It is impossible to play on such a pitch, you know me. I like teaching my players to play good soccer, I am not enjoying this kind of soccer when playing on such a pitch, I only enjoy playing soccer when using the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.”
The 60-year-old Belgian has also stated his team could have won the match. He has also opined on the second-place finish.
“But we hit the crossbar more than three times, we created a number of scoring chances though we could not convert them into goals.
“Yes it can affect our second place but we are okay, we will fight until the end, we knew very well it will be difficult but we were not lucky like I told you we hit the crossbar but could not score.”
Simba SC, who have been crowned, are on 80 points, 18 and 19 more than Azam na Yanga respectively.
