Kumasi Asante Kotoko were crowned Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions at a coronation ceremony held at the Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

Playing their last but one match before the end of the 2021-2022 season in front of their teeming supporters, the Ghana champions beat already-relegated club Elmina Sharks 3-0.

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku led his outfit to present medals and the GPL trophy to the captain of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Kotoko had lifted the premier league title 24 times, the highest in the country, and will represent Ghana in the Confederation of African Football champions league next year.
