The second round of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup starts this weekend with the first-leg matches scheduled across different venues.

The matches look interesting as it is time for the entry of the clubs exempt from the previous round with title holders RS Berkane of Morocco travelling to play Kwara of Nigeria.

Another highly anticipated match is between Egyptian side Pyramids who are on the move to play Al Hilal of Sudan.

There are several matches between clubs from the north and the south of the continent as ASCK of Togo welcome USMA of Algeria, while Libyan club Al Akhdar rubs shoulders with Azam of Tanzania. Elsewhere, Morocco’s FAR Rabat await Guinea’s Ashanti GB and Côte d’Ivoire club Sporting Gagnoa will face JS Saoura of Algeria.

Benefiting from the withdrawal of its opponent in the first round, FC St Eloi Lupopo from DR Congo will play its first African match this season by hosting Sagrada from Angola.

A tough match is when AS Real Bamako from Mali play Hearts of Oak from Ghana in a West African derby while the southern Africa duel between Royal AM of South Africa and Zesco of Zambia will also be entertaining.

The return matches of the second preliminary round will be played a week later.

At the end of this round, the qualifiers will face the eliminated clubs from the second preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League to reach the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
