Tennis sensation Angela Okutoyi Saturday went into the books of history as she became the first Kenyan to win a Major Open title.

Okutoyi, 18 and her Dutch partner Rose Marie Nijkamp edged the Canadian pair of Kayla Cross and Victoria Mboko 3-6, 6-4, 11-9 in the final to lift the Wimbledon girls’ doubles title.

Okutoyi and Marie were behind by 6-3 after the opening set of the final but rose to the occasion to clinch the historic victory.
