Nairobi Stima dropped points for the first time this season in the National Super League when they were held to a barren draw by visiting Ushuru FC.

The Powermen came into the match hoping to bag maximum points following their fine start to the 2019/20 NSL season where they had already won their three initial games. However, the taxmen had different ideas and gave as much as they received.

The two promotion hopefuls ended up sharing spoils and now Stima have 10 points, two more than Ushuru.

At Camp Toyoyo, Talanta FC defeated visiting Coast Stima 3-0 to take their tally to seven points from four games. The Juma Abdalla led side struck courtesy of Ronny Katumanga, Abdulwahab Abdul and Anthony Gichu.

It was the third loss for the coastal-based side in four games, and after the match coach Paul Ogai explained why: “Most of our players have been out injured, and it affected our training especially in pre-season. They are slowly returning to full fitness and in due time we will be at our best.

“I believe the next game will be better for us, we are going for a win which I believe will boost our confidence,” Ogai said.

At Gusii Stadium, Shabana FC were awarded a walkover as St Joseph’s Youth failed to turn up.

As a result, the Glamour Boys are now on nine points, one behind leaders Nairobi Stima and Nairobi City Stars who are on 10 points each.
