National football team Harambee Stars is set to report to camp on Tuesday to kick off their preparation ahead of the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals.
Kenya is set to pitch camp in France for two weeks ahead of the June 2019 championship to be staged in Egypt.
Coach Sebastien Migne summoned a 25-man squad for both Afcon and Africa Nations Championships (Chan) assignments to kick start a weekly training every Tuesday in Nairobi.
Seventeen of the 25 local-based players are expected to report to the Kenya School of Monetary Studies grounds on Tuesday as Migne keeps a close eye on the team.
Gor Mahia trio – Francis Kahata, Philemon Otieno and Joash Onyango – have been excused from Tuesday’s training session due to their club’s midweek commitment in the Kenyan Premier League.
Also excused from the maiden session are Bandaris’ Abdallah Hassan and goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo as well as Kakamega Homeboyz’s Allan Wanga and Benard Ochieng (Vihiga United) and Elvis Nandwa (Ulinzi Stars), who are based outside Nairobi.
The five will link up with the team in the following week.

Kenya is set to play Ghana in a formality Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in March having already booked a place in the continental showpiece event.
Also in line for the Harambee Stars is Chan qualifier against Burundi set to be played on a date to be announced by CAF.
Chan is reserved exclusively for players actively featuring in their respective national championships.
