Last Friday, for the second year in a row, LaLiga and EA SPORTSTM announced the 15 best players of the LaLiga Santander season, doing so with the Team Of The Season (TOTS). The winners were selected by a mix of a popular vote for all LaLiga and EA SPORTSTM fans, the selections of the players themselves and the picks of a committee of experts.
In the end, 1 goalkeeper, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 4 forwards were chosen to form part of the Team Of The Season. They are: Ter Stegen; Balde, Militão, Koundé, Nahuel Molina, David García; Modrić, Pedri, Valverde, Mikel Merino, Gabri Veiga; Griezmann, Lewandowski, Vini Jr and Benzema. These players received the most votes and have become the second set of winners in the history of the TOTS Awards.
These 15 winners were chosen out of a total pool of 47 nominated players, representing 17 LaLiga Santander clubs.
The selections were revealed during an event that was broadcast on the social media channels of LaLiga (YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Facebook), Movistar and DAZN, with the participation of well-known faces from the world of football, such as Iker Casillas, Joan Capdevila, Augusto Fernández and Fernando Morientes, as well as featuring Espe and Vitu as hosts.
