Harambee Stars are set to play Comoros without the services of in form striker Michael Olunga.

The two nations are scheduled to play on November 11 at Nairobi in the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier with the second leg set for two days later. Sports Africa has learned the two have failed to secure release from their clubs owing to strict Covid-19 rules.

In Japan, seven members of Kashiwa Reysol, a J1 club, tested positive of Covid-19 and most of the players, including Olunga, have self isolated.

Victor Wanyama of Montreal Impact is however reported to flying home today for the match. Wanyama scored in Montreal’s 3-2 against DC United last night.

Another star on his way is Cercle Brugge’s defensive midfielder Johanna Ochieng Omolo.

Kenya will host the Islanders at Kasarani hoping to get maximum points and go top of Group G. Stars started their campaign in the pool with a 1-1 draw away to Egypt before registering the same scoreline at home against Togo.

Comoros defeated the latter at home by a solitary goal before settling for a goalless draw with the Pharaohs at home.
