The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to battle it out with the Falcons of Jediane this evening in the Africa Cup of Nations at the Stade Roumdé Adjia.
Both teams have been to this stadium already with Nigeria having bagged maximum points against Afcon record winners Egypt 1-0 while Sudan managed to scrap in a point against Burkina Faso.
The Nigerians are among the tournament favourites but Sudan talisman Burhan Tia has made it clear that this match is very important to them and they must come all out and prove a point.
This is the third time the two sides are facing each other at the Afcon.
In their first encountere, Sudan came out on top having beaten Nigeria 4-0 in 1963 the tournament was held then in Ghana .The next time the two time meet was after 13 years they battled it out in Ethiopia this time the Super Eagles won by a solitary goal.
Meanwhile, seven-time Afcon chapmions Egypt will face Guinea Bissau in a must-win match for the Pharaohs at the same stadium lest they be humiliated by being knocked out at the group stage.
