Nairobi City Stars made their intention of making a return to the Kenyan Premier League clear after beating Bidco United 2-1 in a National Super League match played at Camp Toyoyo.

The Thika-based side were the first to score in the 23rd minute courtesy of Erick Gichimu.

It could have been worse for the hosts but the Anthony Akhulia-led side could not take their chances.

They were made to pay in the 40th minute when skipper Anthony Kimani leveled matters with a well-taken goal.

Jimmy Bageya sealed the win in the 50th minute to ensure they open a ten-point gap at the top of the table.

The win takes City Stars to 55 points, 10 more than Bidco, who have a three-point advantage over third-placed Nairobi Stima. Stima beat Ushuru 2-0 at Camp Toyoyo on Saturday.
