Wazito FC and Kisumu All Stars have earned promotion to the SportPesa Premier League  after finishing first and second in the second-tier National Super League (NSL).

Wazito return to the top-tier league after a season in the NSL lifting the trophy with an emphatic 7-1 win over St. Joseph on the final day.

Joe Waithira grabbed a hat-trick while Amos Asembeka added a brace with Derrick Onyango and Paul Acqua also on the score sheet to finish top with 81 points.

At Thika, Kisumu All Stars also beat relegated Thika United by a similar margin to finish second and earn a spot in the top tier league.

Eric Otieno and Ian Motanda scored a brace each with Moses Odhiambo and Alvin Ochieng adding the fifth and sixth to seal their first ever premier league promotion having been formed last year.

The team will return to the lakeside city with plans for massive celebrations underway for the ‘Eagles’.

Kisumu All Stars remarkable rise to earn promotion saw them stage a dominance performance winning 23 matches in the National Super league racking up 80 points, one behind Wazito.

Dennis Oalo of Nairobi Stima emerged top scorer with 24 goals.

Nairobi Stima who finished third place will face Posta Rangers in the Playoffs.
