Wazito FC have once again fired their technical bench less than two weeks before the Kenyan Premier League start.
Fred Ambani, who was serving as the head coach, assistant coach Babu Salim and the goalkeeper trainer Elias Otieno were dismissed reportedly after a substandard pre-season friendly game away to Zoo FC where they ended up losing 2-1.
The duo was appointed to head the team in August after the exit of Englishman Stewart Hall. It was the second stint for Ambani who had been fired in March alongside Stanley Okumbi for poor results.
In that game, it was Wazito who scored first courtesy of new signing Boniface Omondi. Collins Neto levelled from the penalty spot before Derrick Anami scored the winner. Despite Zoo FC playing with 10 men for about a quarter an hour or so, Wazito could not get an equalizer.
Kakamega Homeboyz coach Nicholas Muyoti has been tipped to take over from Ambani.
SPORTS AFRICA has learned contact with the former Kenya midfielder has been made and an agreement has been reached. Bernard Mwalala has been lined as his replacement at the Kakamega-based side.
Wazito have so far appointed Matthew Ottamax as the new goalkeeper trainer to take over from Otieno.
