Posta Rangers have survived relegation after securing a place into the 2019/2020 Kenyan Premier League season.

The Mail Men retained their KPL status following a 3-2 aggregate win over Nairobi Stima in the two legged KPL promotion/relegation playoff.

The second leg, staged on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos ended in a one all draw but Rangers still progressed thanks to a 2-1 victory in the first round staged at the Kinoti Stadium on Saturday.

A second-half strike by Stima forward Dennis Oalo was not enough to turn the tie around as Posta had got themselves on the front foot in the first half courtesy of a Francis Nambute strike. The match ended all square in Machakos.

Stima will thus see their wait for a maiden top tier appearance for a year with yet another competitive second tier season of the National Super League set to kick off in August.

Rangers finished 16th on the 18 man KPL table and they had to be subjected to a vigorous playoff with Stima, who finished third behind NSL winners Wazito and Kisumu All Stars.

Gor Mahia successfully retained the KPL title for the third year running.
