Western Stima players are crying foul over their salary reduction by management without consent.

The Powermen received just 50 percent of their March salary, same with the members of the technical bench. It is a move that has shocked many since such an arrangement had not been reached by the involved parties.

It is for this reason the players and the technical bench have written to the management seeking to know the reason behind the move.

“We the Western Stima football players and the technical bench would wish to bring to your attention that our March salary was deducted by 50 percent without our consent yet the league has been stopped indefinitely,” read a letter to the management and obtained by SPORTS AFRICA.

“The letter we signed to facilitate the payment of our March salary had no such information of the 50 percent deduction. We are so much inconvenienced and we are requesting the office to kindly address this issue.”

The Kisumu-based side isthe second Kenyan Premier League side to subject players and technical bench to pay-cuts. Kakamega Homeboyz were the first to announce players will receive a 50 percent salary reduction.

Efforts to reach Western Stima management on the same were futile as our calls went unanswered.
